Our Academics
We approximate the academic criteria of prominent mainstream schools and strive to maximize each student’s full potential in an educational setting free of undue emotional stress.
The key is not just in the methods, but the prescriptive delivery system individualized to each student, based on professional testing and diagnosis of physiologically based learning differences. Our goal is to produce, evaluate, prescribe and coordinate individualized teaching methods for each child.
McGlannan School prepares students for a successful transition into the mainstream at the appropriate time while fostering self-esteem and maximizing academic achievement.
Small teacher to student ratios
One-to-one prescriptive and intensive instructional sessions provided to all students by trained reading clinicians.
An Occupational Therapist supervises a sensory integration program for our youngest students.
Students participate in a daily structured physical education program.
Students attend computer applications class each day. The goal is to develop essential computer skills including keyboarding/touch typing, word processing, web research, digital citizenship, and use of Microsoft Office applications.
Our comprehensive middle school academic program approximates the level of the local prominent mainstream settings and prepares our students for successful transitions.
Our goal is to prepare students to successfully mainstream at the appropriate time while fostering self-esteem and maximizing academic achievement. We work closely with prominent mainstream schools to help identify the appropriate setting for each student’s transition.
